Vice Speaker meets Korean delegation
A Vice Speaker of parliament M.Enkhbold met Thursday a visiting delegation headed by Mr Cho Tae-yul, the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea.
The latter thanked the Vice Speaker for the audience and underlined that this meeting has a great importance in expanding of the bilateral relations and cooperation.
In response, the Vice Speaker said he is glad about the first meeting of the Mongolia-S.Korea joint committee and expressed a satisfaction with a development of the bilateral relations at a level of comprehensive partnership in all spheres.
Biggest Korean companies are participating in great construction projects in Mongolia, he noted and emphasized an importance for the S.Korean companies to attend these projects as investors rather than performers, "this way it will be beneficial for the both sides and will contribute to the complementary ties". He added that Mongolia’s government is undertaking special steps to form favourable for investors conditions.
The Vice Speaker went on that the flag carriers of the two countries--the Mongolian Airlines (MIAT) and the Korean Airlines--are performing flights between Ulaanbaatar and Seoul, and forwarded a proposal to start a Ulaanbaatar-Beijing-Jeju flight in order to boost the tourism and asked to study it.
He also pointed out that developmental official assistance from South Korea has contributed to our development and emphasized some prior goals of the Mongolian government such as a realization of concrete and beneficial projects in spheres of infrastructure, mining, environment, health and urban development, and a protection of S.Korea-based Mongolians, and asked the S.Korean side to support an improvement of their living conditions.
Present at the meeting were Li Tae-ro, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Mongolia; Jong Byong-gwon, a deputy director of the Northeast Asian Department of South Korea’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
